पहचान

यह काफी नहीं है कि चीख कर चिल्लाना
नाचना सड़कों पर नंगे भागना
यह काफी नहीं है
कि हर शाम
बुद्धिजीवियों की भीड़ बन
बटेर शब्दों के शिकार करना
सस्ते शराब-घरों,
अंधेरी कोठरियों में
उत्तेजना के ज्वालामुखी लुटा
खाली विश्वासों की थाती लिए
खुले हाथ वापस घर लौट आना।
काफी तो घर भी नहीं
जहां एक अदद बूढ़ी आंखें,
दो अदद बीमार आंखें और
तीन अदद  निरीह आंखें
प्रतीक्षा कर रही होती हैं
काफी यह भी तो नहीं
कि अपने अहसास को अपने ही पावों तले ठोकर लगाना
और पराजय के कीर्तिमान स्थापित करने में
समय की बाजी हार जाना
हां सिर्फ यही काफी है कि
पहचानें हम अपने को
चाहे तुम हो या मैं।

Indentification
It's not enough
to scream and dance in nude
on the public roads.
It's not enough
to crowd around like intellectuals
and chase or hunt pleasant's qualis
of words like huntmen of Bater Bird
And in the dark chambers of
cheap tavems or bars squandering
agitations and tensions
and return home with hollow belief and empty hands
is also not enough..
Even that home is not an abode of peace
where a pair of old eyes
two pairs of sick ailing eyes
and three pairs of imploring eyes await
It's also not enough to kick
your own sensitivities and feelings
And set standards of your defeat
to be a loser in the battle against time

Yes, it is enough that we
recognise our self truly
It may be
you or myself.
