जब रास्ते धुंध में डूबे हों
हरीतिमा ओढ़ ले बर्फानी चादर
इस ओर से उस छोर तक कुहासे की पारदर्शी
दीवाल खड़ी हो
हम-तुम चलते रहें
एक-दूसरे से बंधे-बिंधे ऊंची-नीची पहाड़ियों पर!

हमारे हाथ भले ही ठंड से जकड़े हों
पर हमारे जिस्म
दिल की तपिश से गर्म हों -
उस मृगछौने की खाल की तरह
जिसका लबादा पहनकर पर्वतारोही
पर्वत की ऊंचाइयां नापते हैं
हमारे दिल की धड़कनें उसी तरह
तेज और तेज होती रहें
जैसे जैसे हम आगे बढ़ते जाएं।
कितना भयावह है वक्त
बर्फानी रात में
हवा चुप होने का नाम तक नहीं लेती
अभेद्य अंधकार की काली तकदीर पर
बेहद सफेद अक्षरों से लिखती हैं बर्फ
देवदारू पत्रों पर अधूरे वाक्य-
प्रेम अंधेरे और तूफान के बीच का सफर है

When all the paths are merged in mist
The greenery is under snowy cover
From this end to that end
transparent wall of fog stands
we two would go on knotted and knitted together
over the uneven hills
May be our hands gripped in cold
